I don't know about you, but I am ready for this month to be over with. We have had such a busy month, June has to be easier...... Right Lord? I know, I know, don't test Him, He will show you just how much power He has.
Lets start at the beginning. May 1 -4 was busy because the boys had their kids musical at church. So, just about every day we had practice.
Then, that Sunday the 4th we got a phone call at 6 in the morning that we had been dreading getting. My husband's 92 year old grandmother had passed away in her sleep. I mean, if there is a good way to go, that is it. We found out later that she had had a rough time the past few weeks not knowing people and getting confused. We went on to the kids musical at church and it was awesome! Then, came the prep in getting ready to leave for Arkansas. We are a very casual family, we go to a casual church, so none of us had any clothes to wear. It literaly took me all week to find everything we needed. Thankfully, the funeral wasn't until the next weekend. And during this week, my daughter was trying out for the medical team at school and both boys had parent day at school (two different days). Also, my daughter had her AP exam on Friday, so we could not leave for the 10 hour drive until after she got done with that. Oh, and Thursday (9th) was my daughter's 17th birthday.
We left for Arkansas on Friday(10th) around 1:30. The weather was supposed to be bad, but we didn't hit any weather until we were about 9 hours into the drive. This storm was weird. The wind was blowing like crazy, the rain was coming down in sheets. The 18 wheelers in front of us had on their flashers so people could see them. I started looking around for tornadoes. And the weather app on all of our phones showed what had happened in the area at 4:00pm, and this was 9:00pm. Oh, and did I mention that we were in Batesville MS? Yep, the homeplace of Batesville Coffin Company. Freaky!!!!! Is an understatement. Thankfully, right outside of Batesville the storm stopped and so did we at a Cracker Barrel for dinner. We were in Arkansas until Monday morning, the 13th and drove home in beautiful weather.
But, on our way home my mom texted and told me they were taking my great to the ER. I can't even remember what for now. My aunt had a nasty fall about a month ago. She stumbled on a throw rug and broke her wrist and got a HUGE (softball sized) bump on her head. Thankfully my cousin was there and called 911 and helped keep the bleeding under control. Mom found out this past week that she broke an artery when she fell, that is why it bled so much. Anyway, this trip to the ER the doctors found out that my aunt had too much medicine in her system and she was toxic. So, they stopped all meds until they could get her levels down. Well, they released her on Friday the 17th back to rehab.
Also this week, my daughter had more after school practices with the medical team and then a game on Thursday night (16th).
Well, Saturday night, the 18th mom texts me and says that my aunt is being transported to another hospital because her blood pressure is real high and she is non-responsive. Turns out she has had a massive stroke and the next 48-72 hours will determine what type of damage she has. But, as of right now she is not responding to us at all. She has no mobility of her right side and she is not doing well at all. We are just waiting to see what happens at this point.
Did I mention today (the 19th) is mine and my husband's anniversary? Yes, 23 of the best years of my life. I don't know what I would do without him.
Also, tonight is our daughter's birthday party. I can't wait to tell ya'll about her present.
This coming week is the boys last week of school and waiting to see what happens with my aunt.
Come on June! I can't wait for you to get here!
